COLLECTIBLES: MICHAEL JACKSON "Bad" Figure by Hot Toys

HOT TOYS have outdone themselves again. After releasing two, 12" fully articulated Michael Jackson figures last year ("Thriller" and "Billie Jean" versions) they have announced the upcoming "Bad" version.

The 1/6th scale Michael Jackson (Bad version) collectible specially features:

- Authentic and detailed fully realized likeness of Michael Jackson in the Bad music video
- Newly developed head sculpt with new make-up
- Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) and colored Translucent Iris
- Multi-layered stereoscopic hair sculpture
- Slim version of TrueType body with 38 points of articulation
- Approximately 30 cm tall
- One (1) pair of punches, five (5) additional right and two (2) extra left interchangeable and posing palms
- Each piece of head sculpt is specially hand-painted

Costume:
- Two (2) sets of costumes (one (1) set for Bad version and one (1) set of upper outfit in Dirty Diana image)
- Bad costume:
+ Black jacket with buckles, zips and pouches as accessories
+ Black and white tees
+ Black pants with buckles and a red stripe on the left
+ Four (4) belts with buckles (three (3) in black and one (1) in brown)
+ One (1) pair of black shoes with buckles
+ Nine (9) pieces of black gloves with buckles (six (6) for right hands, three (3) for left hands) (right gloves with rivets added)

JOE CUBA "El Alcalde del Barrio" CD Release Party

Swedish SVT documents the history of Jay-Z's smash single "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)". The interviews with Jay-Z, Dj Mark the 45 King (producer) & DJ Kid Capri are pieces of hip hop history. The original actress that played the lead role of "Annie" whose voice laces the hook and the composer are interviewed as well. The dialogue is largely in English with shorter scenes in Swedish.

Photographed for the September issue of XXL Magazine in 1998, Over 200 emcees gathered to do a hip hop version of jazz's 'Great Day in Harlem' photo by Art Kane. Gordon Parks Jr. took the photo, Kool Moe Dee narrates & Nelson George directs. Almost 12 years have passed since this event and the film is truly a love letter to hip hop. Seeing so many of the most influential artists of the genre on the same block in Harlem is dizzying. It was great to see the unanimous appreciation for Rakim among his peers.

COLLECTIBLES: RBST X SOMR Cubeecraft- J DILLA (RIP)

I have been seeing these online for quite some time but never downloaded templates or attempted to construct one. Paper toys/figures also known as Cubeecraft, are another element in the collectible vinyl toy world. Though made of paper, these ingenious figures are designed by some of the illest artists in the graf, vinyl toy and underground art world. The above figure was designed by RBST in collaboration with SOMR to pay homage to one of the greatest producers in hip hop and R&B- J DILLA. It even comes with a paper toy version of an MPC3000!
