DON CORNELIUS Pioneering Show Host & Creator of SOUL TRAIN Found Dead

WOW. At a loss for words on something this tragic. Reports are confirming that the creator and host of SOUL TRAIN, Don Cornelius was found dead in his Sherman Oaks, California home early this morning. He was the victim of what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Beginning in 1971, Chicago native Don Cornelius created and produced the groundbreaking variety show, which went on to become one the longest running shows of its kind in the history of television. He hosted the show from its inception till 1993. Soul Train presented live performances from many of the greatest entertainers in black/urban music. The show was revered for its famous "Soul Train Line" segment and the deep, baritone vocal delivery of Mr. Cornelius. He was 75 years old.
