NEW! THE ZRO HOUR Podcast S06E14

2010 is shaping up nicely for hip hop music. I have been hearing some great stuff lately and of course I had to share. The show begins with a Golden Era MASTA ACE and his "alter ego" BIZ MARKIE on "Me and The Biz" and rides through new joints by GUILTY SIMPSON, JOE BUDDEN & ROYCE DA 5'9", BLACK POET, MEMPHIS BLEEK, LUPE FIASCO, JOELL ORTIZ(!) and ETERNIA. Speaking of Eternia, she called in to invite ya'll to the album signing party for Eternia & MoSS "AT LAST" at SPUTNIK in Brooklyn, NY. She also gives some insight on her upcoming tour dates. You know I always bring it back with some classics and rare gems and this show features two songs from the demo tapes of two of the most influential artists in hip hop- NAS & WU-TANG CLAN. CAMP LO gets love this week as well as CANNIBAL OX and KILLAH PRIEST.

Super producer TY FYFFE calls in to speak about his RAW N UNCUT project and contest. Ty speaks on the details of the contest and what he is looking for in the next rap star. Check out rules and info at www.tyfyffe.com-

VIDEO: Various Artists- "WE ARE THE WORLD (25 for HAITI)"

VIDEO: Nelson George's "A GREAT DAY IN HIP HOP"

Photographed for the September issue of XXL Magazine in 1998, Over 200 emcees gathered to do a hip hop version of jazz's 'Great Day in Harlem' photo by Art Kane. Gordon Parks Jr. took the photo, Kool Moe Dee narrates & Nelson George directs. Almost 12 years have passed since this event and the film is truly a love letter to hip hop. Seeing so many of the most influential artists of the genre on the same block in Harlem is dizzying. It was great to see the unanimous appreciation for Rakim among his peers.
