BOOG BROWN "The Brown Study" Remix Album

Boog Brown was named to iTunes Best New Hip-Hop Artists alongside Nicki Minaj, Drake, B.O.B., now she is getting ready to release a follow up to the smash hit debut album produced by Apollo Brown. December 20th a full length redux entitled The Brown Study Remixes will be released on cd and digitally by Mello Music Group featuring all new production, bonus tracks, and cover art.

Continuing to work her debut project, Brown Study, Boog Brown has brought in some of the best producers in Hip-Hop to remix her debut album including Georgia Anne Muldrow (producer for Erykah Badu, Mos Def), and 14 KT (Red Bull Big Tune Champion 2010), as well as an all new music with Apollo Brown. The album went through numerous incarnations looking for the perfect sound that would stand alone as a complete album, something that 6 months later Boog has accomplished. She also enlisted fellow Atlanta artist Craig "Flux" Singleton to create new cover art. The new full length remix project will be released December 20th on cd and digitally via Mello Music Group.

Earlier today @PeteRock released a few old school pictures on Twitter from an era long before the fame and accolades that both he and Heavy D received in hip hop. Pete Rock and Heavy D were cousins and Heavy D was the vessel for Pete Rock's entry into the music industry. The above are just a peek into their past as children. Big up to Pete for sharing these!

Beloved Rapper Heavy D Dies At 44

It saddens me to have to report something like this. Actor, rapper, record producer, singer Heavy D inspired and touched the hearts of many through genuine character, raw talent and showmanship. Jamaican born, Heavy D aka Dwight Arrington Myers (May 24, 1967 – November 8, 2011) also hailed from the same family that gave the world iconic hip hop veterans Pete Rock and Grand Puba. He inspired the "Large and In Charge" men of the world to be more confident in their appearance and be viewed as ladies men. There was a reason that Biggie shouted Heavy D out in his classic aspirational song "Juicy". Heavy D has departed before he had a chance to fully share his new album "Love Opus". I played his first single "Love In A Bottle" on the last episode of THEZROHOUR. Below is the next single featuring Anthony Hamilton that just came in today. We will always remember "The Overweight Lover"...
