RESPECT DUE: RAH DIGGA, YO-YO & B.W.P.

My boy HeRBaN LyRiX dropped a series a great profiles giving shine to some of the best and groundbreaking females in hip hop- RAH DIGGA, B.W.P. (Bytches Wit Problems), and YO-YO. Each piece contains a great overview of the artist's work, impact and links to some gems. The Rah Digga piece is especially thorough as LyRIX drops several classic videos of her best features. LyRIX truly came through with the B.W.P. A lot of heads barely remember this female version of N.W.A. and predecessor to H.W.A. "Two Minute Brother" was the most popular single and was a statement of sexual empowerment. Much of B.W.P.'s album was so shocking to me at the time that I stopped playing it and threw it away. The sting is likely diminished due to the explicit nature of the world nowadays. Damn I miss Yo-Yo...

Yo-Yo was the top MC back in the day from the West Coast, with "Cant Play With my Yo-Yo" being the big hit she had out.
