RZA Reveals More Details About "Man With The Iron Fist"

RZA's first mainstream directorial effort, "Man With The Iron Fist", is truly a labor of love. Its his first serious martial art film and he has secured the help of accomplished directors Quentin Tarantino, Eli Roth (Hostel) and cinematographer Chris Doyle (Jet Li's "Hero"). RZA has secured actor Russel Crowe to star in the film and is shooting in Shanghai. Master Yuen Woo Ping has also been approached to do the choreography for the film. MOVIES: RZA Releases Trailer for WU-TANG VS. THE GOLDEN PHOENIX

RZA has finally released a trailer for his kung fu flick Wu Tang vs. The Golden Phoenix. The film, which RZA calls “my homage to the 70’s” has no set theatrical or home video release date. Although the film has been in the making for the past ten years, the trailer was just released to commemorate RZA’s twentieth year in the music industry.

The hip hop icon says he made Golden Phoenix to prove to himself and Hollywood that he could be taken seriously as a director. He had some help from Eli Roth, who is billed as an executive producer for the film. The film also features several kung fu legends like Robert Tai, fight choreographer from the 1978 classic The Five Deadly Venoms. Golden Phoenix was made in the style of 1970’s “Kung Fu Theater” – grainy shots, crazy sound effects and lots of dubbing. RZA is well known for his kung fu obsession; just listen to any Wu-Tang album. Now he’s taken that vast knowledge of the genre to create “a world where everyone fights…and they’re all fighting for one thing – the Wu Tang weapon.”

This is the funniest sh*t I have seen in a minute. The Roots bandleader and drummer, ?uestlove introduces footage from RZA's audition for the NBC comedy show "Parks and Recreation". That is IF the RZA auditioned for the show in an alternate universe..LOL!

BLOKHEADZ began as an independent comic/graphic novel series created by the Madtwiinz, Mark and Mike Davis. The animated version of BLOKHEADZ features Hip-Hop stars Talib Kweli and RZA, Hip-Hop ambassador Bobbito Garcia, comedian Affion Crockett (Mad TV, MTV’s Wild N’ Out), actress Lauren London and Def Poetry Jam’s Mayda Del Valle, with super-producer DJ Khalil providing the sonic backdrop. The look of the series is similar to "The Boondocks" but with more graffiti inspired/anime character designs. The first two episodes are available on missiong.com.
