Red Bull Music Academy has long held this series of lectures that showcases many of the greatest contributors to music culture. The above video features an in depth interview with the hosts of arguably the greatest hip hop radio show ever- Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Garcia. Their radio show, broadcast on 89.9 FM WKCR in New York City in the 90's, was the conduit for many of the biggest names in hip hop today. They are also a major inspiration for THEZROHOUR as well as many other hip hop radio hosts that came before them.

Thanks to keeping up with my Facebook fam I was made aware that Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia did a 20th anniversary reunion broadcast on WKCR this past Thursday from 1am-6am. Stretch and Bobbito held it down through the golden era of 1990's hip hop and was one of the most influential radio shows in hip hop history. Last year I had the honor to interview former radio host and DJ, Bobbito Garcia, about his career and impact in hip hop, basketball and multimedia. We spoke about the 10th anniversary of the final broadcast of The Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito radio show and his role in breaking many legendary hip hop artists through the 90's. Snippets of the audio portion of this interview is featured on the current promo CD "THE ZRO HOUR: Respect The Architects Vol.1". The video tape was misplaced and thought to be missing or destroyed but recently turned up! Enjoy this special interview with one of my personal influences in hip hop..

When he gets caught in the middle of a crime lord/media mogul with an intent on controlling the city, Blak discovers his rhymes have supernatural abilities...

BLOKHEADZ began as an independent comic/graphic novel series created by the Madtwiinz, Mark and Mike Davis. The animated version of BLOKHEADZ features Hip-Hop stars Talib Kweli and RZA, Hip-Hop ambassador Bobbito Garcia, comedian Affion Crockett (Mad TV, MTV’s Wild N’ Out), actress Lauren London and Def Poetry Jam’s Mayda Del Valle, with super-producer DJ Khalil providing the sonic backdrop. The look of the series is similar to "The Boondocks" but with more graffiti inspired/anime character designs. The first two episodes are available on missiong.com.
