Singer John Legend shares a personal clip taken after the Pre-Inaugural We Are One Concert in Washington, DC last weekend. The ten minute long clip shows Legend along with Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Jimmy Henchmen(!!) and several others as they await Obama and First Lady Michelle to greet and thank them. One thing is for sure..Barack Obama's ascendency to President has provided much creativity and revenue in the art realm. I collect a lot of the merchandise but I am discriminate about what I purchase. The above t-shirt caught my attention after seeing it in an article in the current issue of XXL magazine. Great new short film about the clash of BMX bike culture mixed with the caribbean culture of building sound systems, MADE IN QUEENS follows a group of Queens, NY youths as they showcase their "stereobikes". These imaginative tinkerers from Trinidad were working late into the nights creating something nobody had ever seen before: enormous stereo systems jury rigged onto ordinary bmx bikes. Traveling together, each behind the handlebars of his or her own massive homemade creation, they treat the neighborhood to an outrageous impromptu music and dance party on wheels. The film, directed by NICOLAS RANDALL & JOE STEVENS is screening at The Queens Museum of Art as a part of the Queens International 4 exhibition January 24th through April 26th. MOVIES: CRIPS AND BLOODS: MADE IN AMERICA

Combining unprecedented access into the worlds of active gangs, CRIPS AND BLOODS: MADE IN AMERICA chronicles the four decade long fued between America's most notorious African-American gangs. Directed by Stacy Peralta ("Dogtown and Z-Boys" and "Riding Giants") and narrated by Forrest Whitaker, the film traces the history of the two gangs' rise and development from inception to present.
