"Ball Bearing Based Beat Machine"- What?? That's what I said to myself as I watched the above video and read the brief backgound of the device in the original article at the above link. BeatBearing is designed by Peter Bennett and is described as a simple user interface that uses ball bearings to program a sequencer. Check the video above for this device in action.

Rob Beschizza of Gadget Lab has discovered this lovely sequencer from Peter Bennett that uses steel bearings to trigger beats on each of the four tracks. It's far from the most practical sequencer ever designed, but looks like it would be a joy to play with.
